I have found that as annoying as it may be to first-time moms, advice from other parents actually helps, shocking I’m sure. But hear me out, even if you choose not to follow the advice, it may be helpful to you or someone you know further down the line. I admit I was quite arrogant as a young mom, believed that I knew best because, after all, it was MY KID! How dare these people try to tell me they know more about my child? Well, some of them did. Don’t get me wrong, I am a true believer that we as moms know our children better than anyone else, but listening to advice can’t hurt.  

Other times, just knowing you are not going through something alone can help ease some of the pressure that comes with being a parent, especially a single parent.
